Surveys include a professionally prepared bound report with a typed summary of all observed conditions, photograph sheets and DVD copies of high quality original digital-8 film as needed. To ensure records are available when needed, PreSeisTek keeps original negatives, copies of all photos, video tapes and reports for five years.

Survey Notification, Education and Scheduling
PreSeisTek also offers project-specific brochures that inform property owners about the project, provides education about damage controls and criteria, monitoring protections, and the benefits of allowing property condition inspections by third-party professionals. Brochures can also include commonly asked questions and answers addressing typical concerns of property owners. This form of property-owner education is a preemptive risk management method proven to reduce claims. PreSeisTek schedules surveys at times convenient for our client and the property owner.

Interior and Exterior Property Condition Surveys
PreSeisTek identifies property owners with special concerns or who might need special attention. Depending on the needs of the project or the property owner concerns, PreSeisTek can perform exterior-only or complete interior-exterior condition surveys. Condition of concrete slabs, foundations, siding roofs, brickwork, drywall, plaster, and other structure components are carefully studied and documented with date-stamped 35-mm photographs and recorded on digital video tape. Computer-printed bound reports are prepared for all condition surveys. Reports include typed text notes of observed structural conditions, photographs and DVD copies of survey video tapes.

WHY PRE-CONDITION SURVEYS AND COMPLIANCE MONITORING ARE IMPORTANT

Most structures exhibit damage caused by concrete shrinkage, settling, construction defects, environmentally-induced stresses, aging, dynamic loads, weathering and other causes.
Unfortunately, it is a fact that some property owners will mistakenly or intentionally claim that existing damage was caused by low-level ground motion induced by blasting, pile driving and mechanical excavation or demolition activities.
Documenting existing conditions via pre-construction surveys and vibration / air-overpressure monitoring are proven methods of avoiding or successfully defending costly damage claims.
